Lisneal Finalists!

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that Lisneal College has been shortlisted for not just one, but TWO incredible awards! 🌟🙌
🏆 Finalist – School of the Year at the River Radio Community Awards 2025
💖 Finalist – Excellence in Pastoral Care and Wellbeing at the Local Women Magazine Education Awards 2025
The Local Women Magazine Education Awards 2025 celebrate the remarkable achievements and tireless efforts of teachers and schools across Northern Ireland. These awards shine a light on educators who inspire, lead, and make a lasting impact in their classrooms and beyond. 🏫✨
This amazing event honours the unsung heroes of the education system, our teachers who devote their lives to shaping young minds, often going above and beyond their call of duty. 💫
We are incredibly proud that Lisneal is being recognised for both our academic excellence and our strong focus on student wellbeing and pastoral care. This is a huge achievement for our whole school community – students, staff, and our families!

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE)

Congratulations to all of our year 10 pupils, who successfully completed their 2-day DofE Bronze qualifying expedition in Gortin Glen Forest Park, this past weekend.

The Expedition phase promotes personal growth, resilience, and teamwork, offering valuable experiences that foster leadership and self-confidence.

The weather was warm and sunny and the pupils thoroughly embraced their outdoor learning experience.

A huge thanks to the staff members who helped facilitate the expedition and to Mr Gordon Aiken and Mr Charles McFarland who assessed the pupils’ navigation, teamwork and camp-craft skills.

I think everyone is looking forward to some respite from the midges and a comfy bed!

Well done to all involved.

The pupils can now look forward to continuing their DofE journey back at Lisneal College.

Uniform Appeal!

Many people have items of school uniform that they have grown out of, no longer need and are taking up room in their houses.  Instead of throwing the uniforms out, we are appealing for you to donate them to our school uniform bank, ready to be re-used by our thankful students!

The donation station will be outside the school office, where your child can drop off their donations until the end of June. 🌎

Drop-in sessions for parents/carers to access the uniform bank will be confirmed in June.

Thank you so much to everyone who helps with the programme, it has been a huge success over the past few years and many students have made use of your kind donations! 😊

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE)

Congratulations to all of our Year 11 students, who successfully completed their 3-day DofE Silver practice expedition in the Sperrins over the weekend.
The expedition aim was to document man’s effect on the environment, and our students thoroughly embraced their learning experience.
A huge thanks to the staff members who helped facilitate the expedition. The students now look forward to continuing their DofE journey at Lisneal College.

Class of 2025 📚✨

Today we said goodbye to our amazing Year 14 leavers as they begin their study leave. The class of 2025 have been a joy to watch and grow. From eager Year 8 students who first walked through our doors in 2018, to the confident, ambitious young adults we see today. 💙
This morning was filled with laughter, memories, and emotion as our Year 14 pupils gathered to reminisce on their journey through Lisneal College. They watched videos, celebrated with staff, enjoyed time with the friendship circles that have shaped their school life, presented each other with awards and even posed in their photobooth. Memories to last a lifetime!

We will miss this year group. They have brought so much spirit, warmth, and character to our school community, and we couldn’t be prouder of everything that they have accomplished over the past 7 years. A special shout out to our incredible Head Boy, Callum, and our Head Girl, Lucie, and the entire student leadership team for their hard work and dedication over the past year. They have represented their year group with pride, maturity, and grace, and we want to thank them for their leadership and commitment to our school. ❤

As Year 14 now enter this final stretch of their studies, we encourage them to work hard, stay focused, and give their all in their upcoming examinations. This is your time to shine and show us just how far you have come! 📚✏
