U12 RUGBY TEAM MAKE FINALS

BREAKING NEWS – We are delighted to announce that our U12 Rugby team had a further victory today at the Northern Area Qualifiers and are now through to the finals, due to be held in Lurgan next week. Well done to our lads on their terrific performance. What a way to round off a fantastic week for Yr8 sport at #TeamLisneal

PRIMARY TRANSITION PROJECT

We are all learners and we are all teachers. On Friday pupils transferring to Lisneal College from Eglinton Primary School joined our Year 8 Maths class to help us learn more about the transition from KS2 to KS3. The P7 pupils were joined by Ms Crooks, VP and P7 teacher in Eglinton PS. This work is really helping us to improve and develop teaching to maximise achievement. As usual our pupils were amazingly welcoming and the P7 pupils were so impressive. Mr Johnston also enjoyed every minute. To be the best takes innovation. #TeamLisneal #FirstNeverFollows

STUDENT COUNCIL LEADERSHIP TRAINING

Our Student Council invited the Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District into school recently as part of their Leadership Training Programme. The Student Council thoroughly enjoyed listening to the Mayor as she explained her role within the Derry and Strabane District. Our pupils took time to raise questions on dealing with the press, how she copes with her busy schedule and the highlights of her time in post so far. We wish to thank Madam Mayor for taking time out of her busy schedule to help us understand more about the meaning of good leadership. As you can see, we have one or two pupils (and a member of staff) eager to take over the reigns from Madam Mayor when the time comes. #TeamLisneal

U12 FOOTBALL MATCH

MORE GOOD NEWS to share. Today our U12 football team defeated Larne High School in the quarter-final of the NI U12 Plate played at Mallusk playing fields. Our boys thoroughly deserved their 3-1 victory. A sterner test now awaits them as they prepare for the semi-final match against Ballyclare Secondary School. Well done boys. PROUD AS PUNCH.

YR8 NETBALL TEAM

Our fantastic Yr8 Netball team won their way to the final of the Oakgrove Integrated Netball competition. Sadly, the girls were defeated 3-1 by Holy Cross College. Well done to all team players for their hard work and commitment shown to date. Top player of the tournament goes to Sophie Linton, our Goal Shoot. #TeamLisneal LIKE NO OTHER
