Eco-Makers in Messina, Italy!

Ciaran, Layla, and Lily from Year 9 went on an incredible journey as part of the Eco-Maker Erasmus+ Project, co-funded by the European Union and hosted by FAB LAB Messina!
Accompanied by Miss Parkhill, our students had the opportunity to explore programming and 3D printing, and gain hands-on experience in cutting-edge technology. They travelled with Dr. Terry McIvor and Zita Bertha from AISR.
Our students explored the town of Taormina, visiting the Teatro Antico di Taormina and learning about eco-sustainability at Sibeg, the Coca-Cola manufacturer in Sicily. Students from the U.K., Turkey, Portugal, Poland and Italy teamed up to program micro:bits, solving challenges and putting their new skills to the test.
They also visited the Gargano Puppet Museum to learn about traditional Sicilian puppetry and enjoyed a tour of Messina City Hall. They wrapped up with a completion ceremony, celebrating the hard work of students and organisers.
