SafeTALK – Suicide Awareness for Everyone

Our mental health and wellbeing team have recently completed ‘SafeTALK – Suicide Awareness for Everyone’ and their mental health ambassador training to aid in promoting positive mental health within the school for staff and pupils.
Thanks you to Lisa and Emma from Action Mental Health for carrying out this project. We are so proud of our pupils. 👏👏👏

🏉 Pollock Cup Rugby 🏉

The U16’s played the last game of their regional league (Western) in the U16 High Schools’ Pollock Cup, knowing that a win would see them into the quarter finals.
They travelled to Stranorlar to face St. Columba’s College. Lisneal didn’t take long to shake off the bus journey with an early score in the corner. The day continued in the same fashion, and Lisneal displayed their quality. This resulted a 41-0 win seeing tries from Lewis L (x4), Harley (x2) and Rio getting himself a try. Jaydon Olphert converting 3.
Lisneal displayed excellent skills throughout, collectively. They are a team that keeps going from strength to strength and, most importantly, are enjoying playing the game of rugby. We eagerly anticipate the quarter final draw of the Pollock cup to see who we will face next.

Remembrance Day Service

Our Head Boy and Head Girl, Kyle and Katie, attended the Remembrance Day service held at the Cenotaph in the Diamond. Kyle and Katie laid a poppy wreath on behalf of Lisneal College in memory of those who gave everything so that we have the freedoms we enjoy today. Lisneal College pupils formed a significant part of the Remembrance service whilst representing the Army Cadet Force, Combined Cadet Force, Boys’ Brigade, Girls’ Brigade, Cathedral Youth Club, YMCA, Britannia Band and William King Memorial FB, to name but a few. Well done to everyone involved.
WE WILL REMEMBER THEM.

Remembrance Services

Lisneal College held special Remembrance assemblies to pause, reflect and remember those who made sacrifices in wars across the generations so we can enjoy the freedoms we do today. Ryan McCready spent time talking with our pupils about his experiences in the Armed Forces and the people that inspire him. This morning we were joined by members of the Royal British Legion as we paid our respects on Armistice Day. Our choir sang beautifully and our pupils were so respectful. Thank you to the music department for their contribution to this important day for our school community. Lest We Forget.

Lisneal awarded Mental Health Award

We are delighted to announce that Lisneal College has been awarded an ‘Investors in Mental Health’ award. Our Mental Health and Wellbeing Team were delighted to receive the certificate today and have many ideas for promoting positive mental health and wellbeing for our students. Keep a close eye out for future announcements! #TeamLisneal #LikeNoOther
