Remembrance Services

Lisneal College held special Remembrance assemblies to pause, reflect and remember those who made sacrifices in wars across the generations so we can enjoy the freedoms we do today. Ryan McCready spent time talking with our pupils about his experiences in the Armed Forces and the people that inspire him. This morning we were joined by members of the Royal British Legion as we paid our respects on Armistice Day. Our choir sang beautifully and our pupils were so respectful. Thank you to the music department for their contribution to this important day for our school community. Lest We Forget.

Our FAB Dinner Ladies :)

It has been said that Napolean Bonaparte said, “an army marches on its stomach.” Well, these are the ladies that keep #TEAMLISNEAL going everyday in school. The ladies have adapted to meet the demands of our Covid 19 response and we are very thankful for their hard work and dedication to our pupils. They are normally such a shy bunch (cough, cough), so please give them a well deserved thumbs up! #wearelisneal

Katie and Nicole on UTV’s Lough Foyle

What a nice surprise it was to catch our very own Katie and Nicole feature in the UTV series, Lough Foyle. The programme focuses on the work of Foyle Ambassadors- a group of young people who are committed to learning about and protecting our river Foyle. You can catch the series on the ITV player. Well done, girls. Very inspirational indeed. #WEARELISNEAL

8L’s Pen-Pal Project

Over the past few weeks, Miss Mc Williams’ form class 8L have been taking part in a “Pen-Pal Project” with elderly residents at a Nursing Home in Newry. The pupils have been working very hard and have put in a lot of effort to write an individual letter to their chosen pen-pal. This is a lovely way to demonstrate our LC core values and is such a kind and thoughtful project to help put a smile on someone’s face during these difficult times!

Ruby was the overall winner with a lovely hand-written letter and a beautiful picture of Van Gogh’s Sunflower to go along with it!
Runners up include Sophie, Lewis , Mollie, Eli and Eva-May. Congratulations and well done to the whole class for their positive participation!

Let’s keep showing kindness to others during these difficult times! #8LKindness #MakeSomeoneSmile
