#ProudAsPunch of Jessica

Small actions can make huge statements. Today year 9 pupil Jessica found a secret Santa gift on her school bus and handed it into our school office. Mr Allen was able to locate its owner, a pupil from Thornhill College, who was delighted that it was found and returned. This clearly demonstrates what integrity is- doing the right thing. Well done to Jessica; we are proud that you are a Team Lisneal member!

2nd PSC Report

This morning all pupils received their 2nd PSC pastoral report for 2019/20 from their form teachers during morning registration. Congratulations to the overwhelming majority of our pupils who achieved ALL PRAISES in their report, signifying an exceptional attitude to learning in all subjects with the focus and determination to succeed.
REMEMBER: Decide. Commit. Succeed.
The pupils who were awarded all praises were treated to a celebration box this afternoon to acknowledge their achievement. We are almost certain that none of this chocolate made it the length of home for anyone concerned!

Short Story Competition

Mrs Peoples presented all the pupils who entered the Radio Ulster competition ‘Two Minute Tales’ with certificates to recognise their efforts with short story writing. A special mention goes to Paige Molloy who made it through to the final 25 of 1300 entries – what an incredible achievement for her! #NOLIMITS

The overall internal school competition winners were as follows:
1st prize: Paige Molloy
2nd prize: Lucy Simpson
3rd prize: Jennifer Heath

Seven Oaks Care Home

Year 12 Health and Social Care pupils have been doing a lot of work recently with Seven Oaks Care Home as part of their coursework and also to raise awareness of dementia in the community. We are working to become a dementia friendly school and have had residents visiting us for the Celebration of Christmas. Yesterday, Amy and Kerry had the pleasure of delivering gifts of home-made lap blankets to the residents in the home. The blankets were kindly crafted and donated by members of staff in school. Janice Pomeroy, Senior Care Manager, was delighted to receive the gifts on behalf of her residents and is looking forward to passing them on.
