CONGRATS TO MIA

Mia 👏👏Mia 👏👏 – Yet another SHOOTING STAR at #TeamLisneal.
Mr Allen was delighted to get talking to Mia upon her return from America. She came back to school with a bag full of trophies and medals having made quite an impression at the gymnastics tournament that she recently attended in Cincinnati. Everyone at #TEAMLISNEAL is delighted for both Mia and her good friend Lauren on their remarkable achievements in this competition and look forward to further celebrations as they continue to persue their passion for gymnastics.

GREEN TEAM

Our AMAZING Green Team often remind us of the LC6 Core Values that we expect our #TEAMLISNEAL pupils to exhibit. RESPONSIBILITY and TEAMWORK were both at the heart of their work yesterday as they worked together to purchase and decorate containers that can be used to recycle plastic bottles and paper in our classrooms. The Green Team are trying to come up with ways to reduce the amount of waste that we produce within school and are providing and servicing these containers for any teacher that wants to take part. #MAKINGADIFFERENCE

LAUREN – OUR SHOOTING STAR

Mr Allen was delighted to welcome year 8 pupil Lauren back to school following her recent trip to Cincinnati. Whilst there she thoroughly enjoyed competing in the gymnastics tournament and did herself and everyone at #TEAMLISNEAL proud by returning with yet another trophy to add to her ever growing collection. Lauren has worked so hard and has proven that dedication and commitment really are key to success. #WEARELISNEAL #PROUDASPUNCH

THE PUPIL VOICE AT LISNEAL

Our Student Council are working hard to strengthen the PUPIL VOICE within #TEAMLISNEAL. They are aiming to choose one special charity for our school community to support throughout 2018 and are eager to consult and involve everyone in making this important decision. This week Emily, Holly and Leah took morning assembly to present 8 potential charities to their peers. All pupils will be given the chance to vote on the charity that they would most like to support, allowing everyone to have their say. #WEARELISNEAL

NEW SCHOOL HOUSE BANNERS

WOW – Don’t our NEW SCHOOL HOUSE BANNERS look amazing? Dean and Tiffany were heavily involved in the design of the banners which represent the four school houses; Bishop, Butcher, Castle and Shipquay. Here they are proudly showing off their wonderful creations that are now displayed in our school foyer to symbolise the leadership position of each school house on a weekly basis. WE ARE LISNEAL #LIKENOOTHER

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALICIA

Everyone at #TEAMLISNEAL would like to offer their CONGRATULATIONS to our very own Alicia on her recent selection as the ‘Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet for Londonderry for 2018’. Alicia has been invited to attend a special ceremony in Stormont where she will be presented with her very well-deserved award. We are incredibly proud of Alicia – what a wonderful ambassador for our school she is. #WEARELISNEAL

OPEN NIGHT: 10TH JANUARY 2018

Last May, Lisneal College made the Irish News Top 50 non selective schools in Northern Ireland for 2015/16. Making no. 45 was an amazing achievement, but we stated that we wanted even more. In 2016/17 our 5 A*-C GCSE (with English and maths) exam performance increased by a MASSIVE 12% to take us 14% higher than the NI Average for all ability schools! This year we could even reach the Top 25. Join the Evolution! Come along to our OPEN NIGHT on 1O JANUARY 7PM.

ANOTHER SPORTING SUCCESS

HUGE congratulations to Year 9 pupil Nathan on being selected for the Ireland Under 14 Cricket squad. Nathan is a super cricketer who can bowl, bat and field equally well. We are sure that Nathan has a big future ahead of him! Well done again Nathan! Owzat for a talent?
