Congratulations Holly!

We are always incredibly proud to hear about the acts of kindness that our students show towards other people less fortunate than themselves. Holly is an excellent example of a young lady who has went out of her way to help other people.

She recently donated 12 inches of her beautiful hair to ‘The Little Princess Trust’. This hair will help to provide real hair wigs free of charge to children across the UK who have sadly lost their own hair due to illness.

Holly collected some sponsorship money from friends, family and staff within school that has allowed her to very kindly donate nearly £1000 to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Altnagelvin Hospital.

What a shining star she is! MAKING A DIFFERENCE.

WELL DONE JORDAN!

Mr Allen is pictured offering his congratulations to Jordan following his recent acceptance on to the British Film Institute. Jordan had to apply for membership and attend an interview in order to achieve this status. We are delighted that he will now have access to expert tuition and professional standard equipment. Everyone at Lisneal College is over the moon for Jordan and pleased to see him take a huge step forward towards achieving his dream. LC6 #Aspiration

OH WHAT A NIGHT…

Last night we held our Annual Prize Distribution to celebrate the academic and extra-curricular achievements of our wonderful pupils. This was such a special night for the #TeamLisneal school community who came together in spectacular style to listen to a truely inspirational guest speaker. Congratulations to all of our prize winners – there are no words for how proud we are of each and every one of you! We hope you enjoy the photos that were taken of this celebration of success. Do you recognise any faces? TEAM LISNEAL #LikeNoOther

YR10 BOYS RUNNING FOR ELECTED POSITIONS ON STUDENT COUNCIL

Photographed earlier on today are three fantastic young men from year 10 who have put themselves forward to run for elected positions on our NEW STUDENT COUNCIL. We know that each of the three pupils are very worthy representatives of the student voice within their year group and wish them the best of luck with the election process this week. Well done to the boys for having the confidence to step up. PROUD AS PUNCH

YR8 PUPILS REFLECT ON THEIR IDENTITIES IN LLW

A few pupils from 8I are proudly showing off their work from today’s Citizenship lesson. The pupils were asked to reflect upon themselves as individual citizens living in Londonderry, using a range of images, symbols and words they believe shape who they are to illustrate their unique identities.

COOKING IN YR9 HE

Today our yr9 pupils enjoyed a practical Home Economics lesson. The pupils worked very well in Mrs Mullan’s practical to prepare and cook their own homemade pizzas. The smell drifting up the corridor was heavenly as the pizzas were cooking. Well done to all pupils!

NEW STUDENT COUNCIL

This is a VERY exciting week for #TeamLisneal as we begin the search for our NEW STUDENT COUNCIL for 2017-18. Potential candidates have their speeches written and the stage is set and awaiting the start of the election process.
Students that are running for positions on the council can keep an eye on our notice board in school to check the progress of their votes throughout the week. #TeamLisneal pupils remember – your vote counts! PUPIL VOICE

FORMER PUPIL KENDRA MCMULLAN

We are FOREVER PROUD of the success of former pupils of #TeamLisneal who continue to aspire to achieve upon leaving our school.

As captain of ladies football team ‘Sion Swifts’, Kendra McMullan scored both goals in a 2-0 defeat of Newry City ladies on Thursday to win the ‘Womens’ Irish Cup’. Sion Swifts also finished runners up in the ‘Womens’ Premiership’ owing to Kendra’s exceptional talent and skill.
We would like to congratulate Kendra on this success and wish her well as she now takes her place in the NI senior squad for the forthcoming World Cup qualifiers against Norway and the Republic of Ireland.
