WOW – Yr 8 & 9 pupils have recently raised an incredible £1495 for ‘Cancer Fund for Children’ by participating in the Read On Challenge during their English lessons. Very well done to all of our pupils who took part in the challenge, especially to the top fundraisers pictured in this photo. #TeamLisneal BIG SCHOOL BIG HEART
EXTRA-CURRICULAR TEAMWORK
Hannah and Ben were delighted to present their handmade planter to Sophie and Sam, during their visit to Fountain P.S. on Friday afternoon. Sophie and Sam are transferring to us in September and recently took part in our transition induction morning to prepare them for the big move to #TeamLisneal. They were happy to see Mrs Mullan again, recognising her from their taster Geography lesson they had on their induction morning. It is wonderful for us to get to know our brand new pupils ahead of their transition. LIKE NO OTHER
ALICE & ACCELERATED READING SUCCESS
Alice received a very special award today from Mrs Miller for her outstanding level of commitment shown to the Accelerated Reading Programme throughout Yr 8. Alice has read an amazing 6 MILLION WORDS since September and was presented with an engraved glass book as a keepsake and memory of this great achievement.
GEOGRAPHY FIELDWORK
All Yr8 pupils recently took part in Geography fieldwork, based upon the study of their local environment. During this practical experience our pupils learned valuable lessons on how we can be better community citizens. Photographed are some of the fantastic ‘Story Boards’ the pupils created upon reflection of their learning to illustrate their work. #TeamLisneal GEOGRAPHY ROCKS.
FOYLE HOSPICE LADIES WALK & RUN
Well done to all the lovely ladies who represented #TeamLisneal yesterday at the Annual Foyle Hospice Female Walk/Run. Our pupils and staff are always so generous and giving of their time when it comes to supporting local community events. WEARELISNEAL
GREEN TEAM AND T&D CLUB TEAMWORK
On Friday afternoon some Yr8 & Yr9 members of our ‘Green Team’ and ‘Technology & Design Club’ travelled by mini bus to Ebrington and Eglinton Primary Schools. Upon arrival they were greeted by the principals of each school whom they presented with handmade plant pots, a gift for allowing their pupils to take part in our ‘Transition Induction’ morning earlier on this week. Both principals were very interested to hear how the pots had been made by our pupils and how they had grown and nurtured its contents. WEARELISNEAL
U13 CRICKET FINALISTS
Our U13 Cricket team booked their place in the Slemish Plate FINAL earlier on this week after a narrow 8 run victory played away to Coleraine G.S. Batting first, Lisneal worked incredibly hard to close on 68-5, putting in a disciplined fielding performance to restrict their opponents to 60-8 off their 20 overs.
