Letter For Parents From Mr. M. Allen

Dear Parent/ Guardian

To ensure that we are in a position to provide emergency medical aid to pupils in need, it is essential that we hold emergency medication in school. After consultation with Mrs McHugh (Health and Safety Co-ordinator) it has become apparent that the school office does not hold medication for a number of pupils. This medication includes: epipens for treating life-threatening allergies, asthma inhalers and diabetes medication, to name but a few.

Therefore, I am appealing to parents/guardians of children and young people with specific medical needs to ensure that we are in possession of any medication your child requires. If we do not hold the medication for your child, he/she will not be able to attend any activities planned outside of the normal school curriculum as we will not be in a position to meet our safeguarding responsibilities.

Please take the time to discuss this letter with your child to ensure that her/she is fully aware of the protocol required in the event of a medical emergency. It is also important that any medication required is provided to us as soon as possible.

Thank you in anticipation of your support.

Yours sincerely,

Mr. M Allen
