TEAM LISNEAL IS ON THE UP

Oops! We did it again! Lisneal College made the Irish News Top 50 non selective schools in Northern Ireland. Making no. 45 is an amazing achievement for our school and proof of the hard work and dedication of all of our staff and pupils. This is a very proud day to be associated with Lisneal College. Next year we want even more. Well done to EVERYONE who helped along the way. #WEARELISNEAL

HEAD BOY JOSH

Last week our Head Boy, Josh, attended the Young Enterprise NI Award Ceremony in Belfast in his prestigious role as a ‘YENI Alumni Ambassador’. Doesn’t he look the part? Well done Josh on yet another fantastic achievement – we are very proud of you and know that you will continue to excel in all that you do.

WALLED CITY TATTOO

A massive well done goes to our pupils who performed in the fantastic Walled City Tattoo. It’s great to see such dedication and commitment from our young people. Once again the audience was blown away. Two of our pupils even featured on UTV LIFE on Friday evening (Isn’t that right Emily and Sophie?). #TeamLisneal #communityschool

TEAM LISNEAL CHOIR

Once again the #TeamLisneal choir was in demand. On Friday past our fantastic singers performed at the Festival of Flowers in All Saints Clooney parish church. The acoustics in the church were amazing and our choir sounded absolutely beautiful. Our pupils never fail to amaze and impress. Many thanks to Rev. McBeth for the invitation, Ruth McPhillips, Mrs Flanagan and the ever amazing Darrell Smith. Our pupils are quite simply the best.

YR8 TECHNOLOGY PROJECTS

Year 8 pupils, Rhiannon, Katie and Cameron are photographed proudly testing their finished ‘USB Mood Changing Lamps’. Mrs McCrudden was delighted at the wonderful completed projects that her Yr8 Technology & Design class produced this week. WE ARE LISNEAL.

KS3 SUMMER EXAMS

All pupils in KS3 have now received their revision booklet and a copy of their summer exam timetable. We would greatly appreciate parents support in encouraging their children to try their best during the revision and examination period. #TeamLisneal Together Everyone Achieves More

KEITH LIGHT FROM YALE

Today we welcomed Keith Light into school to speak to 6th form students about the option to apply to and study at Yale and other U.S. universities. Keith’s presentation was very well received and our students were very interested to learn about the opportunities that are available to them beyond A Level study.

SPORTING SUCCESS

MORE SPORTING SUCCESS yesterday for TEAM LISNEAL. Our Yr8 Cricket team defeated Oakgrove College in a friendly match played at home yesterday afternoon, much to the delight of team captain, Nathan McCombe. A sterner task now awaits our boys when they play Ballyclare High School next Friday. We know they will do us proud. #LIKENOOTHER

VIRTUAL BABIES

Aislinn McGuiness from the Brandywell Community group visited school on Thursday and brought with her 5 virtual babies for our Year 11 Child Care students. Each girl took a virtual baby home for the night – sorry mums and dads! We really hope the babies slept well and didn’t keep our girls up all night! We were delighted at the great reports that each girls received for their virtual baby after 24 hours in their care. Well done girls.

JAZZ BAND PERFORMANCE

Once again the pupils and staff of Lisneal College showed our city just how special they are. Our fantastic jazz band performed in Guildhall Square as part of the Jazz festival. The audience was blown away by our talent and we definitely stole the show on Saturday. Huge thanks to all the musicians and vocalists for their dedication and commitment. It was great to see so many parents, pupils and staff members turn out to watch our amazing kids. Huge thanks to Mrs Flanagan and Mr Goodman for all their support. #TeamLisneal #LIKENOOTHER
