Today our Year 11 Business Studies pupils spent their lesson with Joe Doherty, the founding owner of Joe Jacksons Homemade Ice Cream and Milkshake Bar. Joe is a great example of a local entrepreneur who exhibits all the characteristics required for success in business. He was happy to speak to our pupils about his experience of starting up and running his own successful business. Our pupils were eager to find out about the entrepreneurial skills and qualities that Joe believes are of particular importance to him. Many thanks to Joe for taking the time out of his busy schedule to come in and inspire our pupils and also for the free ice cream vouchers.

Today we made the front page of the ‘Derry News’ for our pioneering work in Sharing Education. It is fantastic to know that we are truly making a difference to the lives of so many young people across Londonderry. Lisneal College, St Mary’s College and St Cecilia’s College are working hard to give our children every possible opportunity, and the most exciting thing is …. this is only the beginning.
